Significance of each day of Navratri
Navratri is the ceremony of Navadurga, the nine forms of Devi. So every day is dedicated to worshipping each of the individual forms.
On the first day of Navratri, Devi Shailaputri, one of the nine forms of Durga, is worshipped. Here, Devi Parvati, the daughter of the Himalaya Raja, is worshipped. Shaila means mountains. So, we embrace our inner self on this day and try to achieve the peak of consciousness.
Devi Brahmacharini, propitiated on the second day, is another form of Devi Parvati when Devi undergoes painful atonement to welcome Lord Shiva into her life. On this day, we try to discover our inner divinity, which goes unnoticed most of the time.

Chandraghanta is the form Devi Parvati took when she was getting married to Lord Shiva. The third day of Navratri is significant in a mythological context. We worship Maa Chandraghanta and show gratitude towards her for harmony to our body, mind, and soul.
We worship Devi Kushmanda on this auspicious day. She signifies the bridge between macrocosm and microcosm. So, on this day, we feel the importance of being an integrated part of the universe.

On the sixth day, we all worship Devi Katyayani. She killed Mahishasura. Therefore, people believe she removes the demonic forces from our lives to enlighten us.

She also has another serene and comforting side, which represents both aspects of a woman. The eighth day is the day of Mahagauri.
