We all know that Pune has already made it to the list of Clean city, Smart city and solar city initiative of the Union government. The good news is that Pune has now been selected among 100 most resilient cities in the world by US-based Rockefeller Foundation.

The Rockefeller Foundation helps cities around the world become more resilient to physical, economic and social that are facing Challenges in the 21st century.

Mayor Prashant Jagtap said “The inclusion of Pune in the list of 100 most resilient cities in the world would help the city fight the challenges of unreliable transport system, lack of affordable housing, water management and air pollution,”

the selection would provide the civic body an international platform for exchanging ideas and implement modern urban planning practices, said Municipal commissioner Kunal Kumar.

out of 325 applicants to become Resilient Cities Pune was chosen on the basis of their willingness and ability to become resilient cities. Other cities from India that are included in the list are Bengaluru, Chennai, Jaipur and Surat.
