The Modi Government has introduced new laws regarding the advertisement of fairness cream of skin, deafness, increase in height, obesity, hair loss, pharmaceutical products any product which can affect the human body or animal will be punishable. Those celebrities who are endorsing such products will be soon asked to pay a penalty of Rs 50 lakh and serve prison time up to 5 years.
According to the changes in the Act of 1954, the penalty will be for advertising or promoting fairness cream, hair loss, height, obesity or any drugs which can affect the human being. Under the draft bill, there will be a penalty of Rs 10 lakhs and up to 2 years, for the first fault there will be the only imprisonment and in case of succeeding belief the imprisonment may expect up to 5 years and the fine will be up to Rs 50 lakh.
According to the updated laws for the 1st offense, it will be up to imprisonment up to 6 months with or without a fine and extended up to 1 year for a 2nd-time fault. Any advertisement which influences human will be punishable in a form of penalty. Like medication regarding the treatment of any diseases or unproven to possess amazing powers or in the diagnosis promoting regarding any of the things which influence people will be restricted.
Any advertisement, representation, endorsement prepared by lights, sound, smoke, gas, print, electronic media, internet or website, any notice, circular, invoice, banner, poster or any type of documents which only contains information or claim other than mentioned in the rules will be also punishable.
Why is this a welcomed moved by the Ministry?
Any advertisement which shows that due to fairness cream people are getting success in career and in every field, it demotivates, other dark, which is not good for a healthy society. Due to such advertisement, society treats dark people in such a way that they reduce their self-confidence and ultimate it increases the depression among people.
