Meet this woman living in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal who has gone for a divorce from her spouse merely eight months post her wedding because the spouse was supposed to take her on a honeymoon in Goa or abroad but instead took her to Ayodhya and Varanasi. The divorce papers filed by the woman were submitted in a family court, where the couple went through a counselling session.
The counsellor who works in the Marriage court Shail Awasthi informed NDTV that the couple tied the knot in May last year and both of them are supposedly IT professionals.
The woman, in her divorce petition, stated that both of them earned pretty handsome, which means that going abroad for a honeymoon was not that hefty for them. Even though there were zero financial issues, the husband refused to take her abroad and was pressured to visit a place located in India itself. He asserted that has the responsibility to look after his parents, after which the two of them decided to go to Goa or South India for their honeymoon.
But later on, he booked tickets to Ayodhya and Varanasi, without first, letting the wife know. He told her about the huge change of plan, just one day before the trip, informing them that they were going to Ayodhya as his mother desired to visit the city before the occasion of the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony.
She didn’t object to the trip at the time and went ahead with the plan. However, they indulged in a heated argument upon their return, and the case reached a family court in Bhopal on January 19.
In her petition, she also accused her husband of looking more after his family members as compared to her. On the other hand, her spouse said that his wife was making a huge deal out of nothing.
The two of them as of now are going through counselling at the Bhopal Family Court.
