There are times when matters can go turn into an entirely different route in just seconds. This man in New York was on his way about his day as he held a big consignment of 300 of his freshly purchased Apple iPhones when the matter took an immediate and scary turn.

Employees at the Apple Store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan were quite familiar with the 27-year-old man. He often used to come to the showroom to purchase huge orders of iPhones supposedly to sell them at his smaller store located somewhere in the city. The man not only purchases phones from the showroom but also visits often the shop to purchase gadgets and other tidbits for his small business.

He arrives at the shop at about the same time frequently. On Monday, he arrived at the store at about 1:45 a.m. to get ahold of his stock. After the massive purchase, he paved his way to his car while also tagging along three bags full of iPhone 13s. Before the unnamed man could reach the safety of his car, one stopped beside him as two men reached out of the vehicle and warned him to give over the bags worth thousands of dollars.

When the man denied to hand it over, the robbers attacked him in the face and forcefully took the bag from his hand’s post running away. They took off with a total of 125 iPhones worth USD 95,000, i.e., around Rs 77 lakh. But, the muggers are not yet been arrested, but the police are in search of the criminals and have inquired anyone with the requisite information to come forward.

Though the Apple showroom on Fifth Avenue is open 24 hours a day, it is not yet clear why the man was buying the massive stock so late at night. It’s also not established whether the robbers especially took attacked the man because they were quite familiar with his often purchases at the same store late at night, although the thieves may have been quite familiar with the Black Friday sale ongoing at the store at the time. Fortunately, the victim was not quite injured and ran off from the danger with his gadgets being carried while his health is intact.
