Mumbai is like Mini India. People from all the cities across the country come here to fulfill their dreams. Therefore, all the festivals are celebrated here with great pomp and enjoyment. Amid the Corona Outbreak, there is a huge impact on the celebration of different types of festivals.

Ganeshotsav is no different. We’re now just two months short of Ganeshotsav. There are many popular Ganesh Mandals in Mumbai including the names of Lalbaugcha Raja, GSB King’s Circle, Brihanmumbai Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Samanvay Samiti and many more.

What is Uddhav Thackeray’s expectation from the Ganesh Mandals?

The CM of Maharashtra is requesting the mandals to celebrate Ganesh Utsav with simplicity. He is urging for small Ganesha idols and low-key Visarjan ceremony. There was also a buzz ongoing that Mumbai’s Ganeshotsav Festival Postponed To Feb 2021 Due To Coronavirus. However, Ganesh mandals are in huge confusion regarding this approach.

According to RG Bhatt, the trustee of one such Ganesha Mandal. They will be celebrating Ganeshotsav with simplicity. It is possible to carve the Ganesha idols on-site with the help of clay. Apart from that, they will be doing immersion in an artificial pond.

Various other Ganesh Mandals are doing further planning for successful celebrations. Even while celebrating, it is extremely necessary to follow the Social distancing norms. Otherwise, it can increase the spread of the pandemic in Mumbai.

Some of the Mandals are also planning to celebrate Ganeshotsav in February 2021. However, the permission of only 4 days for noise relaxation norms is quite troublesome for them. Apart from that, there is also confusion pertaining to get permission from the Police department.

Amid all these confusions, the artisans who prepare Ganesh idols are at stake. If this festival doesn’t happen in August, it will be a huge loss for them. We hope, that this COVID19 situation comes under control quickly. Only then, we will be able to enjoy wholeheartedly!
