New rule in Madhya Pradesh high court, After lawyers and judges high court employeeshave to follow a dress code.

A new circular has been circulated by the the high court administration on 16th October ordering all it’s employees to be ‘soberly dressed’ when in office. This is the first time high court has issued such order by putting a ban on inappropriate attire. The circular given to the employees stated that wearing bight coloured clothes, t-shirt and jeans is gainst the decorum of the high court.

The Court staff has been asked to wear white shirts, black trousers and tie. The high court staff include personal assistants, personal secretaries, stenographers and readers. To maintain the decorum of the high court this circular has been issued.  A high court employee said in an interview ” We have been asked to wear modest dresses and in sober colours “.

This circular is applicable to Employees of the Jabalpur bench, Gwalior and Indore seats. For male and female employees no distinction has been made in the circular and no specific dress code has been prescribed for women.
