All the Mumbaikars, there is finally some good news for all of you. After a long wait, hot and humid winds of summer, Monsoon is here in Mumbai. We know that you’ve been waiting for rain for long. The beauty of Mumbai rains is such that difficult to describe.
Earlier, it was expected that the onset of Monsoon will happen on 11th June i.e. Thursday. However, it was late by 3 days. Sunday, brought a lot of relaxation for the people who were fed up with the hot weather! – It’s a pain staying in the home with such hot weather! But now, you can experience the cool breeze and showers from your terrace!
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday, the entire Maharashtra received rainfall. IMD also made an announcement that it will rain for the next 5 days in Mumbai, Central Maharashtra, Konkan, and Vidarbha.
Santacruz in Mumbai received 19.7 mm rainfall on Sunday. Apart from that, Colaba received 11.2 mm rainfall on Sunday. Even for the next few days, there will be plenty of rain showers for all Mumbaikar’s enjoyment!
IMD has also issued Orange-Yellow Alert for Mumbai and suburb regions. It means that it will be heavy to very heavy rainfall in these regions. The regions are Thane, Palghar, and Raigad!
