Most of us can recall having dolls and Barbies as our best friends and companions. Some of us may whisper secrets to them until we drift into slumber, tuck them in beside us at night, and take them on adventures, making them our travel partners. Our fondness for dolls often extended to welcoming them into our hearts to naming them as honorary family members.
But you might be surprised by this doll enthusiast, a woman in China who recently took her affection for these inanimate friends to a whole new level.
You can book seats and arrange parties for various occasions be it for a loved one, a family member, or even a cherished pet and restaurants are usually more than willing to accommodate them. However, in China, a recent dining experience took the concept of celebration to another level.
According to the media, the woman from the Hunan province of China went to the HaiDiLao restaurant chain to mark the special occasion. She requested the restaurant staff to bring high chairs for the dolls that she was celebrating with. This left the restaurant staff initially in disbelief and were quite shocked. The waiter asked in surprise that was she serious about it!
The restaurant staff found it strange to celebrate with non-living things especially dolls as it’s kind of spooky too. She was offended because the staff wouldn’t do what she asked, like putting her dolls in high chairs and treating them like people.
One of the servers even asked, “Are you serious?” When they told her she couldn’t celebrate her dolls’ birthdays there, she left the restaurant feeling sad.
