A recent blizzard incident gaining prominence worldwide is the story of a newlywed couple who pulled the ultimate dine-and-dash at an exclusive seafood restaurant at their wedding. The couple hosted a lavish meal for their 80 guests at Enzo Fabrizi’s restaurant, Ristorante La Rotonda, in Italy.
Enzo Fabrizi’s restaurant owner alleges that the newly married couple, Moreno Priorietti and Andrae Svenja, with their party of 80 wedding guests, pulled a convenient dine-and-dash on their big day. 40-year-old construction contractor and his 25-year-old German wife were tying knots at the end of August in Frosinone, southeast of Rome. After getting married next to the restaurant’s swimming pool, they put on a typical Ciociaria eatery banquet at the restaurant for their 80 guests.
The restaurant arranged them a lavish dining experience of high-quality food alongside the flowers, music, and even the decorations for the night. After the dinner, the guests and the couple made their way back to their lodgings as Fabrizi, the restaurant owner waited for the next day. The groom paid the initial deposit of 3287 euros before and promised to pay the rest of the amount the next day. However, he didn’t come and ran away without paying the bill.
Later the owner of the restaurant found that the couple was not in the town of Boville Ernic, Italy, but went out of the country. After the couple fled the country and went back to Germany, the owner has been trying to contact them and get his money back. He is even calling their parents for help.
Mr Fabrizi said the banquet cost the couple around 90 euros per person, and that the overall bill also included decorations – such as flowers – and other extras, that the owner said alone cost 400 euros.
‘Immediately after [the ceremony] the guests, almost all from Ferentino and about ten Germans, sat down at the table and lunch began,’ he said. ‘They ate, danced, and drank to their heart’s content. They left at 10 pm, but they were almost all drunk.’
However, Fabrizi filed a police complaint with the local police when he got no replies to his requests for payments.
Fabrizi declared, “I will not give him peace until he has paid every penny,” and claimed, “I’ve been a restaurateur for 40 years and I’ve never had this happen to me.”
Priorietti became the most wanted groom in Germany once the police were involved. He was caught by the German and Italian police for fraud.
