The Indian Premier League has proven as an effective platform to the cricket players from small towns. Making his way to the list is now, Navdeep Saini the bowler who brought Shane Watson on the ground with his superfast delivery at 151 km/h.
If you are an IPL Fan, you might have witnessed the rhythm of the delivery of this fast bowler frightening top-class international batsman. Navdeep Saini was recently included in the Indian Squad following the rest taken by senior players.
Like other small-town guys, life was never easy for Navdeep. Hailing from Karnal in Haryana, Navdeep started his career from Tennis Cricket tournaments with a remuneration of just Rs. 200/- Match. After his prolonged efforts of over 6 years, he has now made it to Blue Jersey.
Navdeep is having a proven track record in the domestic matches including his sprint with Royal Challengers Bangalore. Although RCB lost early, the selectors were impressed with his bouncers above 150+ km/h leading to his selection in India ‘A’ team.
He took a 5 wicket haul in the second ODI at Antigua which confirmed his place in the main team. Navdeep is right now 26 Years old right now. Hence, there is a lot of cricket left in him. We must also credit veteran Indian Cricketer Gautam Gambhir for the success of Saini. He is the one who fought with Delhi selectors for providing an opportunity to Saini from Delhi Ranji team.
Saini was also a part of India’s test team for Afghanistan in June 2018. It would be great to see another gem from IPL shining on International Level Cricket.
