Larry Ellison, the world’s sixth richest man was stopped over by traffic police on the Hawaiian island that he is the owner of for allegedly speeding and moving past a stop sign. A bodycam video circulated this week portrays Oracle Corporation’s co-founder who holds 98 per cent of the island Lanai could not get past for speeding.
The billionaire tech mogul was stopped for not following the law after traffic police stopped over him at the time he was driving his Corvette, an orange colour near Manele Road last October.
In the video by the news site Hawaii News Now, got hold of the officer witnessed telling Mr Ellison, “The reason I stopped you is you ran through the stop sign and you were kind of speeding there.”
“If I was, I’m sorry,” said Mr Ellison. Mr Ellison holds 98% of the Lanai’s properties and an estate worth $300 million more than a decade ago, as per the New York Post.
Additionally, the officer inquired Mr Ellison, “Any reason why in particular?” He replied, “I was trying to get home for dinner with my kids but there’s no excuse. There’s no good excuse.”
The officer inquired and asked for his driver’s license, “Okay, cool. Can I please see your driver’s license, registration, and insurance?”
Mr Ellison attempted finding on the paper and then responded to the officer that he did not have in his custody the license on him. The officer proceeded to issue Mr Ellison a citation. s per Forbes, Larry Ellison holds a net worth of about $108.3 billion.
