A cannabis company situated in California, US, is supposedly being taken to court by weed lovers because according to them the weed was not getting them high enough.
Jasper Centeno alongwith Blake Wilson filed a suit in state court last week alleging Dreamfields Brands of fake advertising, deliberate misrepresentation, and outer enhancement, together with other allegations. The weed company widely distributes “the one joint that will according to them get you to Mars much faster than Elon Musk,” but that appears way behind the truth.
The plaintiffs complained that the company falsely diverted its consumers about the Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content of its products. THC is the psychoactive compound in marijuana that works in getting you high.
In one such case, a product stated as possessing a THC content of about 46% was found to possess a THC between 23% and 27%, only the lawsuit said. Christin Cho, who is a legal representative for the plaintiffs, asserted viva a statement: “Consumers are willing to pay more for cannabis products with higher THC content, and expect to pay less for cannabis products with lower THC content.”
“The Complaint alleges that by labelling its products with inflated THC numbers, Defendants are overcharging consumers. Plaintiffs brought this to protect California consumers to protect cannabis consumers from being overcharged,” they further said.
The lawsuit also quoted in the discovery of Weed Week, which tested cannabis products to find their added THC levels. The testing came out with a conclusion that the quantum of THC in the product was to great extent lower than that which was been claimed through advertisement.
As per the filing, Centeno and Wilson informed us they gave a “premium price” for Jeeter products and were been cheated. The lawsuit, which is searching for class-action status, doesn’t state the exact amount men paid for the cannabis products. The pair are challenging for a not disclosed amount in damages.
Cannabis is a multibillion-dollar business located in California, where it has been legal from the year 2016. The state was placed at top of the US in marijuana sales last year at $5.7 billion, as per the Annual Marijuana Business Factbook.
