Travelling places across the globe is a dream of most of us. Sometimes all we want is to leave the hustle and bustle of the city and move to a quaint and serene place, starting a fresh life there alone. 1) Sark, Bailiwick of Guernsey (UK)
Sark is an island within the Bailiwick of Guernsey in the UK. The island has introduced the Sark Society programme, which aims to assist people who wish to relocate to the island. This program offers financial support to individuals of up to $20,000 (over Rs 16 lakh). It also provides a one-year visa to eligible candidates.
The tiniest of the four primary Channel Islands, Sark sits approximately 38 km from the northern coast of France and 128 km off the southern coast of England.
2) Mauritius
Mauritius, an island east of Madagascar is quite a popular place now unlike before. And to make it more known the government of the country has initiated a programme that aims to provide incentives to startups in the country.
To qualify the startup in the program one needs to demonstrate that your idea is not only unique but also feasible and likely to thrive to the Economic Development Board of the country. There are a lot of options you can choose from like business models, technology, innovations, finance and so much more. If your startup idea is approved and well appreciated by the program, the applicant will receive an allowance of 20,000 Mauritian rupees (over Rs 37K INR).
The amount is likely to cover most of the startup needs although it may not seem like a substantial amount, considering the lower expenses in Mauritius compared to other countries.
3) Sardinia, Italy
The village of Ollolai in Sardinia, Italy, has initiated a programme named ‘Work from Ollolai’ to draw the attention of remote workers across the globe. This initiative program provides experienced professionals the chance to work in Ollolai for a nominal fee of just 1 euro and without paying rent. In exchange for this the community program requests that candidate to share their expertise with the local people in the village.
The main motive of this program is to foster the sharing of experiences and knowledge between the global community and rural communities enhancing opportunities for local people and students. It’s motive is to let them gain insights into modern digital careers, cultural exchange and remote work prospects.
4) Austria
The Red-White-Red Card programme by Austria’s government is designed to assist individuals seeking to relocate and work in the country. This programme provides financial support of up to $10,000 (Rs 5.24 lakh) along with a one-year visa.
