Mumbaikars to get free Wi-Fi at 10 more railway stations till the end of December with the speed of 2 MBPS. 8 Stations of Mumbai already had Wi-Fi but it was with the speed of 1 MBPS.
Mumbai railway stations are under tremendous make over in last 2 years. Apart From rush Mumbaikar’s are getting relief through new bridges, sky walks connecting with railway bridges, CCTV cameras and new ATVM machines for getting ticket without standing in long queue.
Railway is also committed to provide free Wi-Fi facilities at railway stations. Till august Mumbai already had Wi-Fi facilities at 9 railway stations which are
1 Mumbai Central,
2 Churchgate,
3 Bandra,
4 Khar Road,
5 Kalyan,
6 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus,
7 Dadar (CR),
8 Dadar (WR) and
9 Bandra Terminus
New Stations which are to get Wi-Fi facilities are
CENTRAL LINE:
1 Ghatkopar,
2 Kurla,
3 Vashi,
4 Wadala Road,
5 Dombivali and
6 Mulund.
WESTERN LINE:
7 Virar and
8 Borivali.
HARBOUR LINE:
9 Belapur and
10 Chembur.
As per the schedule Wi-Fi connectivity should have been made available till Diwali but due to unavoidable circumstances it will be starting after 1 month delay , around New end of December.
