Traditionally, many people tend to open a business in Germany, for example, in respectable Munich or business-like Frankfurt am Main. Berlin has only recently begun to attract the attention of businessmen. Today, the capital of Germany is deprived of attention completely undeservedly, which confirms the 4 advantages of Berlin as a city for doing business.

Why Do Businessmen Seek to Open a Business in Berlin

Profitable rental in Berlin and Germany

Bus company berlin rental

For those who move their business to Berlin, this is very important. You can rent a bus in berlin from reliable companies. It is convenient for transporting people and things, for organizing corporate events, and transferring colleagues and guests of your company from the airport. Buses from berlin coach company are much more convenient than other types of transportation.

Rental property

Rent and salary are two sources of fixed costs, especially undesirable for those who decide to register a company in Germany. How are things going in Berlin?

More than 5,000 office spaces are rented in Berlin (in German they are called “bureau”). The lowest rental price for offices in Berlin is 60 euros per square meter per year in industrial areas or remote areas, the highest is 312 euros per square meter per year in a modern office center in the city center.

For example, in Frankfurt am Main, rental prices are from 72 to 504 euros per square meter per year, and in Munich from 132 euros to 336 euros per square meter per year. As you can see, minimum rental prices in Berlin are almost 20% lower than in Frankfurt and 55% lower than in Munich.

Developed infrastructure of Berlin and Germany

One of the most surprising for many arriving in Germany is the well-functioning post office. Two postal and five courier services can deliver your correspondence the very next day. There are at least a dozen telecommunications providers in Berlin that will connect your office or apartment to the Internet and telephone network within two weeks.

Public transport in Berlin operates around the clock and on schedule. The taxi usually arrives within five minutes. There is also a well-functioning online travel planning and ticketing service, including an app for mobile devices that takes into account repairs, demonstrations, and strikes, making owning a private vehicle a luxury. But of course, for large companies charter bus rental will be more convenient.

In 2006, the Main Berlin Station (Berlin Hauptbahnhof) was opened in Berlin – Europe’s largest multi-level railway station (station tower), simultaneously serving metro trains, commuter trains, and long-distance trains.

High business activity in Berlin

There is an opinion that in Berlin there is no such business activity as in Frankfurt. This is an illusion resulting from an incorrect comparison of cities of different sizes: Berlin is 3.5 times larger than Frankfurt. According to Berlin Tourismus & Kongress GmbH, Berlin ranks first in Germany in terms of the number and area of venues for business events. In 2014, 131,200 business meetings took place in Berlin, attended by almost 10,900,000 people. According to the German National Tourist Board, Berlin ranks first in Germany and fourth in the world regarding the number of international conferences. In 2010, 138 of them were twice as many as in Munich and 10 times more than in Frankfurt.

Germany’s largest market

For certain types of businesses focused on local customers, such as shops, restaurants, service centers, and travel companies, the number of potential customers is important. Of course, for such firms, Berlin with a population of 3.4 million is a more attractive market than Frankfurt with a population of 717 thousand, or Munich with a population of 1.4 million. And, of course, the number of visitors to Berlin, which is twice the number of tourists in Munich and three times in Frankfurt, also makes Berlin more attractive for those who plan to open their business in Germany.

Why Do Businessmen Seek to Open a Business in Berlin

Summing up, Berlin is one of the most vibrant and dynamic cities in Europe, and in recent years it has emerged as a significant hub for startups and tech companies. The city offers a fantastic mix of a vibrant cultural scene, a thriving business community, and a high quality of life, which makes it an attractive place for entrepreneurs and business people.

Furthermore, the cost of living and doing business in Berlin is relatively lower compared to other major cities in Europe, making it an attractive destination for entrepreneurs and businesses.

Overall, while there are certainly challenges and risks associated with starting or operating a business in any location, Berlin’s thriving startup ecosystem, skilled workforce, and relatively lower costs of living and doing business make it a compelling choice for entrepreneurs and businesses looking to expand or start a new venture.
