Lakshmi Vilas Palace of Vadodara is 4 times the size of Buckingham Palace

LVP of Vadodara is the largest private residence in the world owned by Gaekwads of Baroda.

The Palace was built by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III in 1890 at an expense of GBP 180,000.

LVP is built in the Indo-Saracenic Revival architecture style.

A rare feature of elevators at that time has been incorporated into the Palace.

LVP is spread across 3,04,92,000 sq. ft. while Buckingham Palace spreads over 828,821 sq. ft.

The most lavish residence, way larger than Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia, has over 170 rooms.

The Palace was the most expensive privately built mansion of the 19th Century.

The present estimated worth of Vadodara’s Lakshmi Vilas Palace is over ₹24,000 crores.
