In a hilarious incident that recently went viral on social media, a man was planning to propose to his girlfriend with the classic ‘ring-in-the-cake’ idea but experienced a dramatic fail when the hungry woman ate the cake and even ‘chewed’ up the gold ring! She literally took the cake, the baker, and even the bakery to the ‘hangry’ department. The incident was reported from Sichuan in Southwest China. The woman named Liu shared her experience of how her boyfriend’s romantic proposal idea turned into a joke when she almost chewed the precious gold ring hidden in the piece of cake.
As per her post, Liu returned home ‘quite hungry’ one evening. She was delighted to notice a mouthwatering ‘taro and meat floss’ cake that her boyfriend had prepared for her. Without a second thought, Liu began to devour the cake ‘covered with a thick layer of meat floss’. Amidst her big hungry bites. she suddenly realized she had accidentally chewed something ‘a bit too hard’ to be part of a cake. She immediately spit the ‘thing’ out and as she was about to complain, her boyfriend revealed that it was actually a gold ring he was going to propose to her with.
Liu initially thought the guy was joking but soon realized she had indeed chewed on the ring and broken it into two pieces. Fortunately, she did not gulp down a broken piece but the ring was gone. The man’s surprise ended up becoming one of the most ‘dramatic’ proposals of the year. Despite the awkward situation, her boyfriend still asked her, “What do we do now? Should I still kneel?”. Liu laughed at how he tried to diffuse the tension as she went on to accept the proposal.
