The biggest concern every city in India has is about women’s safety and to secure that Mumbai has introduced pink rickshaws for women and it will have women drivers. Isn’t it amazing ?
Pink is the symbol of girl power and pink is definitely much more than being pretty, Pink colour is exclusively for women. To boost women empowerment, 548 determined and strong women have already got the pink rickshaw license from the Maharashtra Transport department.
Out of 548 women who have got pink rickshaw driving license, 465 women are from Mumbai it self and 83 women are from other part of the state. This move will increase the safety of women and will protect them from sexual harassment.
Ranch is the first city to implement this strong move with women drivers of pink auto rickshaw. Then followed Kerala and introduced a 24*7 she taxi.
We appreciate this bold move by the Mumbai government.
