Social media platforms, movie stars and just such random things, in general, can make us forget how grateful we are to be alive. After going through this story about the cutest puppy who was merely given a year to live, you will never consider even a moment for granted. This is Lily the Golden Retriever. A puppy so heart melting that you almost feel like crying. She has the most amazing parents humans Corryn Martin, who is 28, and her spouse Alex, 30 years old.
The three of them were having time of their life when Lily first came to her home. But heartbreakingly the worst news possible was received shaking this family. When Lily was just 3 months old, she suffered from a deadly kidney condition named Renal Dysplasia.
The vet informed Corryn and Alex they can go for euthanising Lily off, to an extent that her breeder even gave the offer to take her back. But her parents chose none. They wanted to spend their life more beautiful together with Lily. “Euthanizing her was never an option for us – she’s like our baby, so we began forming a plan,” informed Corryn.
Corryn and Alex decided to plot out an idea. They decided that they are going to spend their remaining time together and enjoy each moment. They listed down the doggy bucket list. Among the list were going on a paddle board, seeing her human and doggy family, consuming a doggy cake, and travelling.
Below is Lily when she lost her first tooth. The quite recent item added to the list is to train Lily to turn into a therapy dog for children going through chemotherapy. I think she would be perfect for her job.
Corryn and Alex are actually from California but took Lily when they shifted to Hawaii. The final verdict given by the vet was a “worst-case scenario.” Lily was merely given a few months, or maybe a year at most.
One particular item on her bucket list is “cappuccino” which is nothing but a cup full of whipped cream.
“Because she’s a true Hawaiian girl, touching the sand and swimming was, in our minds her first item to tackle but the bucket list will continually develop,” informed Corryn. Lily’s story is heartbreaking. It can take us back to remind us that each passing time is special though.
