They say, love makes you selfless. And this is an act of true love. But, for the planet!
This newlywed couple is turning heads on social media after the duo chose to do something selfless for the environment. While people in love splurge on expensive photoshoots, destination weddings, and exotic international honeymoon, these days, this viral couple took a step back and decided to clean a local beach and collect garbage. The internet is in awe as their noteworthy act is getting love and praise on social media.
A couple from Karnataka, India, recently went viral after they chose to do something unusual soon after their wedding. Instead of spending on an exotic honeymoon and posting cliché reels on Instagram, Anudeep Hegde and Minusha Kancha decided to show their teamwork with a unique approach. Instead of vacationing in the tropical islands, Hegdes chose to do something for the environment they live in.
The Someshwara beach in Karnataka was the favorite spot for Anudeep and Minusha to spend their time together before getting married. Just like any other couple, they too had decided on an international honeymoon destination. But as they started visiting the beach frequently before their pre-wedding festivities, they started noticing that the place had become a dumping ground for civilians. Like many other local beaches, the place was filled with several forms of litter, primarily plastic waste like wrappers, balloons, discarded bottles, and whatnot. That’s when the couple decided on a unique plan – cleaning up Someshwara beach.
After getting married on November 18th, instead of flying for their honeymoon, Minusha and Anudeep spent about 2 weeks cleaning up the beach. Even when the newlywed bride’s hands were stained in henna, the duo pulled up gloves and started collecting trash. Soon, they had garbage bags filled with over 800 kg of trash collected from the beach premises. Till the beginning of December, the lovebirds had already cleared around 40% of the litter from their go-to date spot.
Anudeep took to Twitter, now ‘X’, to share a video of their satisfying experience with a caption, “Can two persons make a difference?” He, along with his wife Minusha, was seen proudly flaunting their clean-up drive. Soon, the video went viral, and dozens of youngsters and volunteers started joining them. Soon, the mass movement resulted in the entire beach becoming completely litter-free by December 10th. Only after completing their humbling act, the couple stated about their “excitement to travel to the mountains” in another post shared on the platform.
To answer Anudeep’s question, yes! Two people can make a difference if they set the right goal. Start the right act today and see the world join you in no time. After all, selflessness is the ultimate flex!
