How far can you go for your love? When you ask this question to a person in love they may give answers that might shock you but this woman from Bangladesh has given love a new lease of life. This 22-year-old woman swam across the border to India to marry her lover. Identified as Krishna Mandal, the Bangladeshi woman was arrested on Monday by the Narendrapur Police for entering the country illegally.

The woman crossed the wild forests of Sundarbans and swam for over an hour across the Matla river that flows in the region. Abhik Mandal, Krishna’s lover was waiting with a car in the Kaikhali village of the South 24 Pargana District in West Bengal as per a report by Lokmat.

The two met online on Facebook and eventually became friends. Their friendship grew into love and the couple decided to get married. However, the guy did not hold a passport which restrained him from entering Bangladesh legally. So Krishna took matters into her own hand and decided to reach her lover no matter what. She decided to swim and cross the country to marry the love of her life.

Desperate to meet the love of her life, Krishna chose to swim since she had no valid passport as well. According to the local police officers the Bangladeshi woman first entered the Sundarbans popularly known for its Royal Bengal Tigers. She then swam for another hour to reach the destination, West Bengal. The woman reunited with her boyfriend Abhik and tied the knot at the Kalighat temple in Kolkata. On Monday, the woman got arrested for illegally entering the country and will be handed over to the Bangladesh High Commission.
