Now you’ll know what your dog or cat is saying to you! AI is cracking the code of animal language and it’s great news for pet owners. If you’ve been wondering what your furry friend keeps thinking, AI might have the answer soon. You’ll be able to ‘listen’ to what those tiny barks and meows are telling you.

AI Pet Translator Apps We’re Closer To Decoding Animal Language Than You Think

Animals have their unique ways of communicating, and decoding their silent language has always remained a mystery. But not anymore. AI is on its path to revolutionizing the bond between humans and animals. Scientists are using AI to vocalize animal language by studying their facial expressions and body language. Researchers are training modern algorithms to identify behaviors and patterns by analyzing animal videos available online.

From narrowing of the eyes and subtle flick of the ear to a wag of a tail, experts are working on AI models to recognize these shifts in expressions to indicate the appropriate feelings. Advancements in machine learning have begun to make such scenarios a reality. Several AI tools are being designed to decode animal languages and make it easier not just for pet owners but even vets to communicate with our four-legged buddies conveniently and correctly. These tools will be available for users in the form of mobile apps that will translate their pet’s emotions in real time improving communication and care.

AI will soon be translating what your cat and dog is saying to you

For example, MeowTalk is an AI-powered cat translator app that analyzes vocals to help cat owners interpret their pets’ needs. By 2021, the app’s creators had reported that the model had already achieved 90% accuracy in identifying 9 different emotional states in cats. DeepSqueak is another app that works as a Google Translate for rat noises. Besides, sperm whale language is also being codified using AI to ‘comb through’ around 9,000 codas, the clicking sounds used by these whales to communicate with each other. Researchers are working on building the Sperm Whale Phonetic Alphabet to decode this language which resembles the human Morse code.

The accuracy levels in this innovation are gradually increasing day by day. The day may not be far off when your dog’s bark is translated into a clear “I missed you!”
