“I thought they were kidding me,” Jesus Aparicio says after learning his tennis idol continues to dominate.
These were the word which Jesus Aparicio spoke when he came to know about the domination of RF in the field of tennis. On December 12, 2004, Jesus Aparicio – a Huge Federer fan – was seriously injured in a car crash while out celebrating his 18th birthday. The accident would leave him in a coma, one he’d remain in for nearly 11 years, until finally waking up on 27th August 2015 .
A considerable amount of time was taken by Jesus Aparicio to recover his speech but has he recovered the first question he asked was about his idol only. To his astonishment, he learned that Federer was not only still at it, but still winning.
“When I knew that, at 34 years, he is still playing and is No. 2 in the world, I thought they were kidding me,” Aparicio
“When I heard that he reached 17 Slam titles, I put my hands on my face.”
At the time of his accident, Aparicio was planning a trip to Wimbledon to watch Federer play woke up just before the start of the 2015 US open where he had to see his idol lose against Djokovic a a player whom he had not seen before.
“I was really surprised to see him play well,” he said. “Djokovic is good.”
