Cockfight turned real! It is common for all of us to come to disputes with our neighbors sometimes over things that cause disruptions. From improperly parking their car to too much littering, we have all heard of incidents where people get into serious rifts with the guy next door but this is quite an unusual one. Here, a man dragged his neighbor to the court, not over loud music or barking dogs, but because of his rooster crowing at 3:00 AM every night disturbing his peaceful sleep. In a bizarre turn of events, the court ordered the bird to be relocated, making the case go viral!

Kerala man files complaint over rooster disturbing sleep

In a recent incident of a peculiar neighborhood quarrel in Kerala, India, a man named Radhakrishna Kurup lodged a legal complaint against his neighbor’s rooster. Kurup, an elderly resident of a village, was already dealing with poor health and sleep issues. What added to his disruptions was his neighbor’s rooster. While Kurup would crave a restful sleep every day, the rooster’s relentless crowing at 3:00 AM would cause some serious nuisance. Unable to tolerate the sleepless nights, Kurup finally decided to take action against this. He filed a formal complaint against his neighbor Anil Kumar, the rooster’s owner.

When the authorities understood the genuineness of the complaint, they conducted an investigation and an on-site inspection. Herein, they found out that Kumar kept his roosters on the upper floor of his house, which was quite close to Kurup’s house. This is why the roosters’ loud and persistent crowing affected the latter’s sleep for real. The authorities took the grievance seriously and treated the complaint with due importance considering Kurup’s old age and need for peace.

Eventually, Kumar was ordered to relocate his poultry shed to the other side of his property within a 14-day deadline. This way, the rooster would be kept on the southern side away from Kurup’s house minimizing the noise. This way, a win-win solution was proposed ensuring a peaceful resolution to the quarrel.
