Following too much online advice blindly might kill you. This is a classic example of it and once you read it through, you’ll be baffled to see what happened to this man who decided to eat 6-9 lbs of cheese, beef, and butter sticks for months.

Man’s hands filled with cholesterol after he ate pounds of cheese, butter for months

A man in his 40s, from Tampa Bay, Florida, had cholesterol oozing out of his palms after consuming foods like 6 to 9 pounds of cheese, butter, and extra fat and dairy products in his daily diet. In the shocking incident, it was revealed that the man had switched to a carnivore diet for about 8 months before being diagnosed with his suffering. He had overloaded himself with cheese and fats consuming high-fat, meat-heavy meals every single day. He had taken this advice from the Internet on his weight loss journey. The high-fat diet had impacted the middle-aged man’s cardiovascular health so much that cholesterol appeared to start leaking out of his hands!

When he started developing “yellowish nodules” on his palms, soles, and elbows, that’s when the man decided to get himself examined at the Tampa General Hospital, Florida. He revealed to the doctors that his daily dietary habits consisted of 6-9 lbs of cheese, sticks of butter, and additional fat in his hamburgers consistently for 8 months. He also mentioned how initially he experienced ‘increased energy and mental clarity’ in addition to his weight loss but after overdoing it, his limbs began to develop painless nodules resembling ‘cheese’ on his palm lines.

A Florida man in his 40s, developed ‘yellowish nodules’ on his palms, soles, and elbows after following a diet for about eight months.

The doctors noted that his cholesterol levels had exceeded 1000 mg/DL and the patient was diagnosed with ‘xanthelasma. It is a condition where cholesterol is deposited under the skin building up smooth yellow ‘nodules’ in limbs and in the corners of the eyelids. The condition is also associated with high risks of heart disease and atherosclerosis. Xanthelasma does not ‘go away on its own’ and must be treated through surgeries or other therapeutic methods.

This Florida man’s case is a reminder of how your diet can affect your cholesterol levels and overall health. It is a warning sign to not follow Internet advice blindly without consulting professionals. Everyone has a different metabolic system and the level of tolerance for different diets can vary from one to another. Avoid considering these crash diets and follow healthier food and exercise alternatives that are both practical and sustainable.
