This is going to be the first of it’s kind in India where passengers will get a chance to riding under the water while travelling from Mumbai and Ahmedabad in India’s first ever bullet train.

According to the railway minister, this 508 km long journey will have a 21 km tunnel with high-speed rail corridor under the sea. The underwater stretch corridor will stretch after Thane (to Virar). This was released by JICA in a detailed report.

This project will cost ₹97,636 Crores for which 81% of loan funding is done by Japan. The construction for this project will begin in 2018.
