As the Mumbai battles struggle with Corona, the government is doing everything possible to combat it. Right now, the Mumbai Locals are operating only for the essential services workers. Therefore, the frequency of locals is lower than usual.

Due to this, many essential service workers are facing a lot of issues traveling from one place to another. Realizing their pain, the central railway is taking a stand for them with the launch of two trains.

Central Railway Launches Two New Trains For Essential Workers Between Thane And Vashi

Yesterday on Monday, Central Railway announced two trains. These trains will facilitate to and fro travel between Thane and Vashi. However, the catch is, it is only meant for essential service workers. Mr. Shivaji M Sutar, Cheif Public Relations Officer of Central Railway said in a Tweet,

“Only the essential staff as identified by State Govt will be permitted to travel by these selected suburban services. Others are requested not to rush to stations. These services are not for the general public. Requested to follow all protocols as mandated for COVID19.”

This train will commence its journey from Thane railway station at 7:30 am. While it will reach Vashi at 8:00 am. In its journey backward, the train will start from Vashi at 4:30 pm. It will reach Thane at 5:00 pm. In between the journey, the train will stop at Rabale, Koparkhairane, Turbhe, and Sanpada.

It is quite noteworthy that Mumbai locals are operating for a month. At present, the western railway is operating with 202 local trains. Whereas, the zonal railway is managing a total of 352 trains across the main, harbor as well as trans-harbor lines.

This is a commendable step from Central Railways. These joint efforts will help us combat Corona.
