Afghan Father Travels 12 Km To Take Daughters To School, Waits 4 Hours While They Study

What’s your excuse for not studying? This is a tale of an Afghan father who travels 12 Km daily so as to ensure that his daughters study well and enlighten his name. For every daughter, their dad is their superhero. Mia Khan, hailing from Sharana of Paktika province is no different from such fathers.

However, the thing which he is doing is something which every parent must take notice of. Every day, Mia Khan travels for 12 Km on his motorbike, to pick and drop her 3 daughters to the nearby Nooraniya school. There is not any school in the place where they live.

Mia Khan, not only picks and drops them but also waits out of their school for 4 Hours until they finish off their classes. And this is his daily routine!

When asked about his this deed, Mia Khan simply says,

“I am illiterate, and I live on a daily wage, but my daughters’ education is very valuable to me because there is no female doctor in our area. It is my greatest desire to educate my daughters like my sons.”

Mia Khan is having 7 Daughters and 2 Sons in his family. While his 4 daughters are studying at a teacher’s place in his village. 3 of them travel with him for school. Mia isn’t able to work because of his heart illness. However, his sons earn bread for the family.
When asked about their father’s deed, his daughter Rozi said,

“I am so happy that I study, I am in grade six this year. My dad or brother brings us on a motorcycle every day to the school and when we leave, he brings us home again.”

We have nothing to say, but we just salute the spirit of this father!
