Not knowing who your groom is until you get married was a norm some centuries ago in certain South Asian countries. But gone are those days. In the modern era, couples prefer to stay together before getting into a marriage commitment. With such notions being normalized for all the right reasons, would you believe this – a woman found out her groom is triple her age after the wedding rituals were completed? How else could she react than to faint?!

Viral Video of Bride Fainting Over Elderly Groom in Bangladesh Is Scripted

A bizarre incident went recently viral on social media. It shows a wedding ceremony happening in Bangladesh. A Muslim couple dressed as bride and groom are involved in the rituals. It is an incident of an arranged marriage where a young Muslim bride faints when she sees the man she is being married to. The post shared on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) gained severe limelight on the Internet. It is a video showing how a 20-year-old bride faints after seeing that her husband is a 69-year-old man!

Young bride faints after seeing face of 69-year-old groom

The 15-second video clip shows an elderly man with an orange-brown beard sitting next to a young woman in a traditional wedding ceremony. At the beginning, the woman’s face is covered with a veil. Once the rituals are completed, the bride lifts the veil from her face and eventually looks at the man by her side. Immediately, she faints at this sight and collapses on the spot. It seemed painful at first but further research revealed some facts that unfolded in a hilarious way.

The video clip was originally posted by a Facebook page that goes by the handle name ‘Wedding Studio’. The page creates funny content revolving around weddings in Asian countries like Bangladesh and Pakistan. This proved that the video in context is nothing but a well-planned scripted clip and the bride and groom are, actually, actors! Although it was eventually declared that the clip was ‘fake’ it has circulated across all social media platforms and netizens are still engaging with the content. Perhaps, the objective of the influencer has been successfully fulfilled!
