India’s cheapest mobile phone which will cost only Rs 251 and will be launched by Ringing Bells a local indian company. This move is going to attract a lot of buyers and will also disrupt the growing handset market in India.

The cheapest smartphone ‘Freedom 251’ will be launched by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikkar in an event presided over by Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi.

Booking of Freedom 251 mobile phone will start from 18th February morning 6am and will close on 21 February at 8pm. The company has said the mobile phone will be delivered by 30th June 2016.

Ringing Bells has launched cheapest smartphone for Rs 251

The Noida-based company Ringing Bells said that the launch is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for “empowering India to the last person, transforming India’s growth story”.

Ringing bells was established last year and will start the assembly of handsets in Phase-I and aims at full indigenous development of the feature-rich smartphones, it said.

No other details are available about the manufacturing, products and pricing. It will be disclosed soon.

Ringing Bells in the new entrant in the game of Smart Phones. It had launched India’s cheapest 4G smartphone at Rs 2,999, recently. India is a very fast growing country in terms of Smart Phone growth and is said to overtake US as the second-largest market in coming years.

Through Make in India initiative the government is pushing the local companies to promote it’s product more in the indian market. Recently few months ago smartphone marketers  including Motorola, Xiaomi and Gionee have commenced assembling their handsets in India.
